CounteR
The project CounteR: Privacy-First Situational Awareness Platform for Violent Terrorism and Crime Prediction, Counter Radicalisation and Citizen Protection, develops and deploys an integrated situational awareness system that identifies radical content online - informal clusters of radicalizers and vulnerable individuals susceptible to radicalization.
CounteR is funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 program. The project has a duration of 36 months and a total budget of 6,994,812 EUR. 19 organizations from 11 EU member states (Bulgaria, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Malta, Portugal, Romania, Spain) are taking part.
The ultimate aim of the CounteR solution is to provide law enforcement agencies (LEAs), internet service providers (ISPs) and social media platforms with an early warning tool to be used in the detection of radical online content to prevent the spread of radicalization and, ultimately, the threat of terrorist attacks.
