Measuring the impact of educational tools

The government relies greatly on counter-discourse methods in order to prevent radicalisation and violent extremism. counter-discourse campaigns are conducted to promote critical thinking via social networks and cultural, educational and artistic projects. As part of the monitoring of State action and in order to improve public policies, we took part in the elaboration of a national-level counter-discourse evaluation campaign (supported by the SG-ICPDR) which has been effective since 2018. We have collaborated with BVA to create an evaluation campaign to evaluate the impact of OnLine and OffLine counter-speeches.
The aims of this evaluation are:

- To evaluate counter-speech production.
- To identify and validate rhetorical forms of conviction and argumentation.
- To identify their cognitive, emotional and performative impact.

To do so, we have worked hand in hand with youths in order to elaborate an original method to collect their feedback. The evaluation will provide a better understanding of how educational tools and systems can be levers for change and the prevention of extreme violence.
